Insight Global is seeking a BIM Manager to join a top energy company in Houston, TX, supporting the engineering, procurement, and construction of multiple hyperscale, mission-critical data centers across the United States. This individual will serve as the portfolio lead for all BIM and VDC activities, overseeing model coordination, clash detection, constructability reviews, and BIM standards across active projects. The BIM Manager will perform hands-on MEP coordination while building and leading a distributed team of BIM Coordinators across North America.
Responsibilities include managing federated models, driving clash resolution between trade partners, consultants, vendors, and field teams, maintaining BIM execution plans and portfolio standards, and ensuring alignment across client-issued models and third-party design deliverables. This individual will also support prefabrication and modularization initiatives, evaluate emerging BIM technologies, and develop model-based deliverables that improve constructibility, schedule certainty, and project execution across the data center portfolio.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10-15 years of BIM/VDC experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects
- Demonstrated hands-on experience performing MEP coordination, clash detection, and constructability reviews on complex, systems-intensive projects
- Experience leading, mentoring, or managing BIM/VDC teams across multiple projects or locations
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and how BIM supports field execution
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
- Experience working within Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, or Procore
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Architecture, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience with Data center or mission-critical facility construction experience
- Experience with modular construction, prefabrication, or vendor-engineered MEP systems
- Autodesk certifications and/or VDC credentials
- Experience with reality capture tools, Autodesk Recap, or point cloud workflows
- Familiarity with digital twin technologies, BIM automation, and advanced VDC processes
- Experience leading distributed BIM teams across multiple regions or projects
