Are you early in your engineering career and interested in supporting projects from initial concept through early development? Join the Projects team and gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle within the Gas and Liquids Pipeline business.
In this role, you will provide technical engineering and project development support throughout the planning, design, cost estimating, risk assessment, schedule development, and pre-sanction phases of projects. You will work closely with engineering, operations, project management, regulatory, and other stakeholders to help develop projects that are technically sound, cost-effective, and ready for execution.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with project stakeholders to support effective communication and alignment throughout the project development process.
- Assist with the preliminary identification and evaluation of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) activities, project scopes, cost estimates, execution strategies, and other project development deliverables.
- Develop realistic and reliable project schedules and cost estimates while identifying associated risks, uncertainties, assumptions, and potential impacts.
- Develop project charters ranging from Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) through Class 3 estimates, including the supporting scope, schedules, cost estimates, risks, and key project information required by project sponsors and executive management.
- Support the preparation of project documentation required to advance projects from development through sanction and execution.
- Provide regular formal and informal project status updates and reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Identify project risks, constraints, and uncertainties and assist in developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives, scope, schedule, cost, and execution requirements are clearly defined.
- Support multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in oil and gas engineering, operations, project management, project development, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and management.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and the ability to support projects through development toward sanction and execution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly related to project scope, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Ability to communicate technical and project information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Primarily an office-based position.
- Up to 10% travel may be required to company offices, operating facilities, construction sites, and supplier facilities.
- Must possess a valid passport and be eligible to travel and work between Canada and the United States.
