Position OverviewWe are seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering expertise for compressor station facilities supporting expansion and maintenance capital projects
. The engineer will support projects executed by third-party engineering firms and provide technical guidance related to electrical infrastructure, applicable design codes, industry standards, company standards, and equipment specifications.
This role will collaborate closely with Project Execution, Transmission, Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, Shared Services, and external engineering firms to ensure project requirements are incorporated into design deliverables and projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Support development of electrical project scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution plans, risks, and supporting documentation
. - Ensure electrical facilities are designed in accordance with applicable regulations, electrical codes, industry standards, and corporate standards
. - Provide technical oversight of electrical design activities performed by third-party engineering firms
. - Review and approve electrical engineering deliverables, including:
- Electrical drawings
- Technical reports
- Equipment specifications
- Material listing sheets
- Engineering calculations and documentation
- Review vendor quotations and evaluate technical bid evaluations
. - Recommend equipment and material selections based on technical merit, cost, quality, and delivery
. - Collaborate with Supply Chain to support procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
- Provide technical support to construction teams during construction, commissioning, and field execution
. - Conduct field visits for project scoping, construction support, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
. - Resolve technical issues using engineering standards, approved modifications to standards, previous experience, and sound engineering judgment.
- Ensure project scope definitions comply with regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements
. - Coordinate with internal functional groups to ensure business and project requirements are incorporated into engineering deliverables.
- Support department initiatives and other engineering/business activities as required.
- Provide technical support to peers and senior engineering staff to facilitate business initiatives and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate project status, technical issues, cost impacts, schedule concerns, and risks to project stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience
. - Knowledge of electrical engineering codes, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
. - Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office

- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation
. - Experience with compressor stations, natural gas transmission, pipelines, utilities, or industrial facilities
. - Experience supporting capital projects and facility expansion/maintenance projects
. - Experience reviewing electrical engineering drawings, technical reports, and design packages.
- Experience working with third-party engineering firms
. - Experience with vendor technical evaluations and electrical equipment/material procurement.
- Construction and commissioning support experience.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical and industry standards.
