Needed immediately:
Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing) in Houston, TX.
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) examination
- Certified by the State of Texas as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) (or reciprocal from another state) - if no EIT yet, as long as you are in process to take it is fine
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
- Ability to work well on a team
- Exceptional written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite - Revit is especially highly desirable
- Knowledge of building codes
- Previous experience in a MEP consulting environment
- Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful design, creation, and delivery of all plumbing AutoCAD and Revit drawings for each client project
- Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project
- Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents as assigned for plumbing-related items
- Conduct field work and complete field reports on plumbing-related items to verify design as assigned
- Strong knowledge of all required building codes
- Excellent knowledge of company's design standards and processes
- Strong knowledge of client design standards
- Proficient in domestic, cold, and hot water systems
- Proficient in root drainage and storm sewer systems
- Proficient in sanitary waste and vent systems
- Proficient in fire sprinkler systems
- Proficient in natural gas systems
- Proficient in compressed air, fuel gas, and specialty gas systems
- Ability to design and manage small projects (i.e. elementary schools) from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Able to transfer knowledge to teammates
- Strong knowledge of company's mission and vision; business leadership roles
- Beginning knowledge of client mission and goals
- Adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies to stay in the forefront of plumbing engineering advancements
- Participate and/or lead client meetings as necessary as assigned
- Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources
