Maintenance Engineer Principal

As a Maintenance Principal Engineer, you will serve as a collaborative, multidisciplinary technical leader within the Mechanical Integrity and Maintenance Excellence team. You will work with manufacturing sites across the global network to strengthen mechanical integrity, maintenance work processes, asset reliability, and lifecycle  this high-visibility role, you will provide enterprise guidance for fixed and rotating equipment, inspection and testing programs, risk-based decision making, maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement.

You will partner with site engineering, maintenance, operations, process safety, and business teams to translate standards and technical requirements into practical, sustainable execution.

You will report directly to our Director of Engineering and you’ll work out of our Houston, TX, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Mobile, AL, or Shreveport, LA location on a Hybrid work schedule.

YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
10+ years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, inspection, or mechanical integrity experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, energy, manufacturing, or another process industry.

Demonstrated experience with fixed equipment and piping mechanical integrity, maintenance engineering, equipment reliability, or inspection programs.

Working knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards, such as API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580/581, ASME, NBIC, and associated inspection and repair practices.

Experience working in a Process Safety Management environment and applying mechanical integrity requirements to operating assets.

Ability to lead complex technical work, solve ambiguous problems, communicate recommendations clearly, and influence across functions and locations.

Ability to travel 30% to manufacturing sites as business needs require. WE VALUE Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Professional Engineer license or relevant API certification, such as API 510, API 570, API 653, or API 580.

Experience with risk-based inspection, corrosion management, damage mechanism reviews, fitness-for-service, turnaround planning, or repair engineering.

Experience with rotating equipment reliability, predictive maintenance technologies, lubrication, vibration analysis, thermography, or equipment spares management.

Experience with SAP S/4

HANA Plant Maintenance, Meridium/APM, computerized maintenance management systems, inspection data systems, or performance dashboards.
