Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, invites applications for the position of Mascot Coordinator at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is a premier sports and entertainment complex housing four major venues: NRG Center, NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome, and NRG Arena. The Mascot Coordinator will represent Legends Global and the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation (HCSCC) brand, engaging clients, vendors, guests, and the public throughout the facility to enhance brand awareness and create memorable experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as a positive community ambassador for Legends Global NRG Park and HCSCC.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, marketing staff, and other team members to coordinate mascot appearances, develop new routines, and execute innovative ideas.
  • Engage guests while in costume, displaying enthusiasm, high energy, and professionalism to elevate guest experience.
  • Make appearances at shows and events, including greeting attendees, dancing, high‑fiving, posing for photos, and interacting with the crowd.
  • Maintain the mascot costume in operational, guest‑ready condition at all times.
  • Develop and maintain social media scheduling and market research to promote mascot activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Outgoing, humorous, and positive individual who can easily connect with people of all ages and abilities while in costume.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, tenants, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the workplace.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to evolving situations.
  • Be enthusiastic, outgoing, and guest‑friendly at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a mascot for a sports team, performing arts/theater background, or amusement park is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality to engage clients, vendors, and guests.
  • Nonverbal communication skills through body language and gestures.
  • Creativity to develop moves and dance routines.
  • Ability to perform in front of large crowds.
  • Ability to sense discomfort and disengage if necessary, while gauging when guests are willing to interact.
  • Flexibility to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather.
Computer Skills
  • Operate personal computer using Mac, Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet.
  • Experience with social media, Tik Tok, and creating Reels.
Other Qualifications
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy and self‑motivation when working with a diverse range of personalities.
  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Maintain a vehicle for local travel within the Houston area for community events and other appearances.
Physical Demands
  • Move around the facility and stand for extended periods during events.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Walk and stand in the mascot costume for long periods.
  • Maintain a height between 5’5” and 5’9” to accommodate the mascot costume fit.
