Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Senior Finance Data Analyst to join the Finance & Data Analytics team of a U.S. branch and broker dealer of a multinational bank based in Spain.

This role will be instrumental in transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights, designing automation solutions, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with robust technical capabilities in SQL, Python, and data automation.

Job Description

As a Senior Finance Data Analyst, you will work closely with Finance, Business, and Operations teams to design efficient data processes, conduct deep financial analyses, and produce high‑quality reporting assets. You will be responsible for extracting data from internal environments, building automated workflows, and creating dashboards when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from internal systems using SQL and Python.
  • Build automated scripts and data pipelines to streamline recurring reporting and analytical tasks.
  • Conduct financial analysis
    , including KPI monitoring, trend evaluation, variance explanations, and ad‑hoc deep dives.
  • Develop dashboards and visual reports in Tableau (or similar BI tools) to support data‑driven decisions when needed.
  • Maintain and enhance internal datasets, documentation, and data governance practices
    .
  • Collaborate within Finance, Accounting, and Business teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions
    .
  • Perform routine data quality checks and resolve discrepancies in financial or operational datasets.
  • Support month‑end reporting
    , including automation of manual tasks and analytical validations.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives
    , proposing enhancements for efficiency and automation.
  • Participate in additional ad‑hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics
    , or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in data analytics, financial analysis, or similar roles.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for advanced data extraction and structuring.
  • Solid proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and analytical workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and data warehouses.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
Preferred
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations in Tableau (or similar BI tools).
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as P&L, budgeting, forecasting, revenue/cost analysis.

With respect to this position in our Houston Office, the expected base salary ranges from $130,000 to $150,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.

In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
