Clinical Research Director of Finance

The Senior Director of Finance will deliver strategic oversight to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of all research-related accounting, budgeting, and contractual activities. This role is responsible for reviewing and analyzing monthly operational performance across all research sites, including revenue by location, patient randomization data, expenses, gross profit, and overall contribution margin, to inform and guide executive leadership decisions.

• Leadership & Development: Provide direction and mentorship to the Director of Research Accounting and the Director of Research Budgets and Contracts, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance across accounting and contracting functions.
• Financial Reporting & Performance Analysis: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly operating reports. Conduct in-depth analysis of site-level research revenue, patient enrollment/randomization metrics, expenses, gross profit, and total contribution margin to evaluate financial performance.
• Budget Management & Forecasting: Direct the development of the internal research budget, manage the annual budgeting process, and lead quarterly forecasting updates for all research locations.
• Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Executive Financial Strategy: Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by identifying financial trends, analyzing variances, and recommending initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
