This is a fully onsite contract position with a client located in Houston, Texas.
We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Interim Controller to support a Houston-based organization during a transitional period. This contract role requires a hands‑on accounting leader who can quickly assess processes, stabilize reporting, and provide financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee month‑end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Lead and support accounting staff during transition
- Partner with executive leadership on cash flow and financial analysis
- Identify process improvements and strengthen reporting procedures
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller‑level oversight
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise
- Experience in interim, turnaround, or project‑based environments preferred
- Hands‑on leader comfortable rolling up sleeves
- CPA strongly preferred
- Visible role partnering with executive leadership
- Competitive hourly or project‑based compensation
- Potential for extension based on business needs
- Houston‑based, onsite presence preferred
