Qualifications and Detail about the Position


Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing the necessary tasks to maintain the Brock Enterprises general ledger, execute period close for the business unit, and identify and explain the variances between the budget and actual results. This position is also responsible for consolidating the financial results of all Brock entities in consolidation software.


Responsibilities:

• Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business

• Executes period close processes

• Generates business unit financials for review and approval by the Assistant Controller

• Identifies and explains budget vs. actual variances

• Executes, reviews and approves account reconciliations, including medical/dental reserve and insurance (W/C and G/L) reserves

• Maintains business unit's general ledger, including execution and/or review of journal entries

• Consolidates Brock financial results in consolidation software and produces consolidated financial reports for review by Assistant Controller and Controller

• Prepares lead schedules and other requirements for financial statement audit

• Prepares ad hoc reports, as requested

• Travel as required


Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines

• Advance proficiency in Microsoft Suite and consolidation software


Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance

• 5 + years of experience in related field

• CPA preferred, but not required
