Job Objective:
The Compliance Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the compliance reporting department, support the team in key reporting activities and functions related to state, federal, and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

*** Formulate regulatory strategy and lead engagement with stakeholders, agencies, and management.
* Responsible for organizing and leading meetings to resolve compliance reporting issues and audit findings.
* Serve as the liaison for the various agencies, including Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Native American tribes and present updates as needed.
* Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with the agencies through regular update meetings and responses to inquiries.
* Maintain working knowledge of regulatory statutes, changes to regulations, and provide interpretation guidance to team and management as needed.
* Reviews state and federal royalties and taxes filings/payment requests, including amendments when deemed necessary, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Reviews of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
* Participates and represents the compliance reporting function to other departments (i.e. land, financial reporting, audits, etc.).
* Assists in the development and implementation of reporting tools, report preparation, and related control processes.
* Develops and maintain documentation of business processes and internal controls.
* Performs special projects that require knowledge of state and federal reporting as needed.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, other departments, external regulators, and the public.
* Ability to prioritize and assign work based on priorities.
* Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
