Director of Accounting

Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to lead and oversee financial operations for our organization in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and audits, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in driving efficient accounting practices and providing strategic financial insights.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage month-end close procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

- Utilize Black Line software to streamline reconciliation processes and enhance accounting efficiency.

- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards.

- Coordinate and manage financial audits, ensuring compliance and timely resolution of any findings.

- Develop and implement accounting policies to improve operational effectiveness.

- Provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational goals and decision-making.

- Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering growth and development.

- Analyze financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting regulations and standards.

- Collaborate with other departments to align financial operations with organizational objectives. Requirements - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

- Extensive experience managing month-end close processes.

- Proficiency in using Black Line software for accounting and reconciliation purposes.

- Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and reporting.

- Demonstrated expertise in coordinating and managing financial audits.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

- Comprehensive understanding of accounting regulations and compliance standards.
