Overview
The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is seeking a seasoned Assistant Controller to help lead our financial operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic financial planning within our firm. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will play a critical role in providing insights and recommendations to senior management, allowing for informed decision-making and the sustainable growth of the firm.
The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is a firm that excels in family, estate planning & probate, and criminal law matters. We have 11 offices in Texas: 2 offices in Houston (Corporate and River Oaks), and offices in Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Humble.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of financial procedures and policies that enhance operational efficiency.
- Supervise accounting professionals and collaborate with department heads to monitor expenses against budget allocations and optimize resource utilization.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA is a plus, not required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience working in a law firm or similar services industry is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Clio or similar legal practice management software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
