Senior Cost Accountant

The Senior Cost Analyst will lead the implementation and ongoing management of a new costing system. This role will play a critical role in improving cost visibility, margin transparency, and operational decision-making across plant operations.

The ideal candidate has deep manufacturing experience and has led projects from concept through execution, particularly related to costing, ERP modules, or process improvements.

• Lead the implementation and support of a costing module within the ERP system
• Partner with plant leadership to drive financial analysis and operational decision-making
• Develop and maintain job costing standards, including cost roll exercises
• Ensure integrity of work order processing, labor postings, material issues, and variance tracking
• Analyze and monitor work in process (WIP), inventory, and clearing accounts
• Prepare and analyze monthly variance reporting, including plant performance metrics
• Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, including headcount and production costs
• Review purchased part costs, labor rates, overhead rates, and routing structures
• Support SOX compliance and internal controls related to inventory and manufacturing processes
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis for operations leadership

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience leading a project from start to finish, ideally involving costing systems or ERP enhancements
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Experience with large ERP systems required; job costing functionality experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, variances, and standard costing methodologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain and influence adoption of new costing processes
