- The Insurance and Risk Management Analyst will support the Director of Risk Management on all aspects of corporate insurance programs and Enterprise Risk Management. Responsibilities include the compilation of underwriting information and coverage placement, claims administration, contract review, loss forecasting, and analysis to assist in loss mitigation, as well as support the corporate risk register and tracking.
- The Insurance Analyst will oversee insurance certificate tracking / ISN system variance reviews.
- Respond to requests from underwriters or adjusters in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
- Review contracts and fulfill internal responsibilities in line with project needs.
- Maintain a strong commitment to the claims process and timely closing of claims.
- Support claims reporting, tracking and analysis.
- Conduct risk analysis of the company’s portfolio activities including natural catastrophe exposures.
- Review and implement contractual insurance requirements to support the company’s operations, development and financing activities with the support of our insurance broker.
- Coordinate risk analysis and loss control services with plant managers, insurance carriers and brokers.
- Assist with the management and administration of the company’s business continuity and disaster recovery programs.
- Develop and maintain the risk management budget and administration of invoices.
- Able to represent Pattern in a professional manner with insurance brokers, underwriters and other third parties.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
- Candidates should have at least 3 or more years of risk management experience in either brokerage, risk management, or underwriting industry.
- Understanding of fundamental insurance terms and ability to apply that knowledge to company exposures.
- Excellent people skills and ability to represent the company with third parties in a professional way.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional departments and groups.
- Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with an emphasis on using PowerPoint presentations to clearly communicate messaging to all levels of management and Excel to analyse complex data.
- Mathematical/analytical skills:
Basic aptitude in arithmetic, and ability to present numerical data effectively when needed.
- CPCU / ARM designation a plus.
- Experience in the power generation or energy industry is a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
The expected starting pay range for this role is $90,000 - $122,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
