Financial Analyst

Investment company in Galleria (on-site role in Houston, TX) area seeking a financial analyst due to growth. The main role of the financial analyst is performance of financial and investment analysis, market research, and evaluation of potential investments, as well as financial analysis for the various operating companies owned by corporate. This position independently analyzes data, reports and contracts, interprets findings, and makes recommendations to the VP to drive growth.

Serve as a strategic partner to operation managers with the annual budget process as well as monthly monitoring of department expenditures and revenues and communicating status to senior leadership; reviewing and making recommendations on department budget proposals based on financial analysis and organizational priorities; assisting in the forecast estimates for department expenditures and revenues; reviewing company performance measures.

Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against budget. Research and explain variances. Report this information monthly or as needed. Review and make recommendations regarding improvements to operations. Other special projects as assigned.

• Advanced experience of financial modeling in Excel
• 1+ years experience in analyst role
• Solid understanding of financial reports and strong communication skills to work with all levels of the organization; including remote staff.
• Open to travel up to 25% periodically
