Position: License, Permits, and Exemptions Specialist

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Houston, Texas

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Maintain inventory of active business licenses and permits
• Coordinate applications, renewals, and amendments
• Track expiration dates and initiate renewals
• Oversee exemption certificate collection and validation
• Configure Avalara systems for compliance support
• Build Salesforce workflows for requests
• Serve as audit contact for licensing and exemptions
• Develop SOPs and compliance checklists
• Recommend workflow improvements

Required Qualifications &

Experience:

• 5+ years managing licenses, permits, or exemption certificates
• Experience with Avalara and Salesforce
• Knowledge of licensing and tax exemption requirements
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines

Nice to Have

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in retail or manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional tax compliance
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
