Tax Manager

This opportunity is with a highly reputable, boutique tax firm in the Houston area known for long-standing client relationships and full-cycle tax expertise. The firm provides comprehensive tax accounting services across:

• Corporations
• Partnerships
• High-net-worth Individuals

With a senior leader retiring after many years, the firm is seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to step in, help lead the practice, and continue delivering exceptional client service.

The Tax Manager will play a critical leadership role within the firm. This individual will:

• Oversee complex tax engagements across multiple entity types
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients
• Review and sign off on returns
• Help maintain and grow long-term client relationships

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong technical tax expertise and business acumen.

• Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns (Corporate, Partnership, Individual, Estate/Trust)
• Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services
• Act as primary client contact on engagements
• Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulatory requirements
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and risk areas
• Mentor and develop junior staff
• Support operational leadership of the practice

• Active CPA license (Required)
• 7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong technical knowledge across corporate, partnership, estate, and individual taxation
• Experience reviewing and finalizing complex returns
• Business-minded approach with ability to build and maintain relationships
• Experience in a boutique or mid-sized public accounting firm preferred
