Position Summary
The position is responsible for the management of a loan portfolio as well as underwriting and presenting specialty finance loans for approval.

- Underwrite and service a portfolio of commercial loan relationships.
- Ensure timely payment of loans in the portfolio.
- Negotiating terms and conditions with existing borrowers.
- Handle reporting on loans, including such things as past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, portfolio profitability, etc.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and credit requirements.
- Provide customer service through clear communication skills, approachability, and working knowledge of all processes and bank products.
- Manage existing client relationships.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external clients at a high level regarding sensitive matters, as well as routine matters.
- Expand, build and maintain relationships, with a resulting high degree of customer satisfaction.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
Position TypeThis is a full-time, exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
TravelSome travel is expected for this position.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This position uses office equipment such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines, calculators, filing cabinets and printers.
Physical DemandsThis position will be responsible for writing, typing, speaking, listening, driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
Mental DemandsThe incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field and 2 or more years’ experience of portfolio management or 3 years in a credit/ underwriting position. Work related experience should consist of a financial and customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Experience spreading and analyzing personal and company financing statements.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet access or the equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs.
- Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
