Overview
UNITY has partnered with a highly respected multi-generational family office headquartered in Houston, to identify an Investment Accountant, to join their growing finance team. Located in the Galleria area with a flexible hybrid work schedule, this organization manages a diversified portfolio of direct and passive investments across both public and private markets.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to investment accounting within a sophisticated and collaborative family office environment. The position will support month-end close, investment activity reconciliations, financial reporting, capital calls and distributions, investment schedules, and various accounting operations tied to the firm’s investment portfolio. Works closely with senior accounting leadership and gain visibility across treasury, operations, and investment functions.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Public accounting experience and CPA designation are strongly preferred, while exposure to investment accounting, private equity structures, partnerships, or family office environments is highly attractive. Candidates should possess strong Excel and systems skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a professional, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications- Solid understanding and knowledge of GAAP principles and procedures.
- Experience in maintaining a ledger and preparing financial statements.
- Experience with investment accounting (private equity, partnerships, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Ability to leverage technology to perform job functions at the highest level. This includes proficiency in MS Word with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
