The Assistant Controller, under the direction of the Corporate Controller, plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of Waste Resource Management (WRM). This position assists in managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Essential Job Functions- Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support the Controller in maintaining the general ledger and overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations.
- Coordinate and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare account and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage fixed‑asset and depreciation schedules.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes; provide financial analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with external auditors and assist in the annual audit process.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years of progressive relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- 3+ years of managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
