Senior Director, International Tax

We are seeking a Senior Director with international tax experience to join our growing International Tax practice. In this role you will work with partners and teams in the United States and globally on complex international tax matters to add value for clients while being a trusted advisor.

How You Will Contribute
  • Provide tax consulting services to public and private multinational clients on the tax implications of their international operations, including business‑operating‑model optimization, supply‑chain planning, IP migration, cross‑border M&A, and internal restructurings.
  • Identify complex tax issues, provide analysis and recommendations, and assist with the design and implementation of comprehensive global tax restructuring and planning.
  • Review MS Excel‑based computations and models of international tax calculations, including projections and scenario modeling of proposed planning.
  • Review international tax opinions and memorandums.
  • Review international tax compliance and accounting for income taxes.
  • Team with A&M Global Tax network and other service lines, including Transfer Pricing, to deliver integrated work products of the highest quality.
  • Build relationships with clients by understanding their businesses, identifying tax opportunities, and offering proactive support.
  • Manage risk, staffing, and financial performance for multiple engagements, including billing, collections, profitability, and project budgets.
  • Provide supportive leadership, counseling, and career guidance through mentoring and performance feedback to your engagement team.
  • Build relationships across Tax and the rest of A&M, developing a deep understanding of the firm’s expertise to present additional support opportunities to clients.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion across all aspects of the practice.
  • Actively pursue business‑development opportunities and prioritize sourcing new relationships.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law (J.D./L.L.M.).
  • Licensed CPA or Licensed Attorney.
  • 8+ years of international tax planning experience in professional services (Big‑4 or other consulting).
  • 4+ years of experience managing teams and engagements.
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing teams.
  • Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients and help them understand and interpret analysis, deliverables, and recommendations.
  • Experience leading others while managing risk, staffing, and financial performance for multiple engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients.
  • Self‑starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and initiative to seek out opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to run large, complex engagements while overseeing multiple teams and ensuring excellence.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project‑management skills.
  • Proficiency in written documentation of tax issues and analysis (e.g., drafting technical memoranda, step‑plans, tax opinion letters).
