Senior Project Accountant

Harmer has been engaged by our client in their search for a Senior Project Accountant in West Houston. This is a newly created role due to growth and will support large‑scale EPC projects, typically ranging from $50MM–$150MM
.

This is a great opportunity for someone with project accounting, percentage‑of‑completion, WIP, and lump‑sum / fixed‑price contract experience who wants more visibility across Finance, Operations, project controls, and leadership.

West Houston; hybrid, with in‑office needs varying by project

• Newly created role due to continued growth
• Company has grown from approximately $350MM to $500MM over the last three years
• Continued expansion through acquisitions, with significant growth expected over the next several years
• Large‑scale EPC projects with strong visibility to Finance and Operations leadership
• Opportunity to grow within project accounting or into broader finance / operations

• Support accounting and reporting for fixed‑price / lump‑sum EPC projects
• Track project costs, WIP, budgets, forecasts, and cost‑to‑complete
• Partner with project controls on percent‑complete and earned‑value calculations
• Prepare progress billings, milestone support, retainage, and cash flow reporting
• Monitor margin trends, cost variances, change orders, and commercial risk areas
• Support accruals, committed cost reporting, project financials, KPI updates, and audit support

• 5–10ish years of project accounting / percentage‑of‑completion experience
• Construction, EPC, engineering, industrial, energy, or project‑based industry experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of WIP, ASC 606, revenue recognition, forecasting, and margin analysis
• Experience with lump‑sum / fixed‑price projects strongly preferred
