Purpose
The Collateral Processing Analyst within Mortgage Capital Markets Operations contributes to the overall success of the Global Banking and Markets by providing operational support of the day to day business needs and ensuring all collateral related tasks are executed / delivered in a timely manner in support of the business. The role ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Management of day to day collateral deposits and shipments for all BNS custodial clients
- Reconcile third-party custodial reporting throughout the day and update system of record
- Escalate collateral / client issues with management, as needed
- Work closely with funding team on exceptions, as needed
- Produce and distribute daily / ad hoc reporting for use by business and clients
- Maintain research and follow up with clients to clear exceptions in a timely manner
- Prepare and reply to requests for agency releases and settlement pool requests
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Develop a robust understanding of supported mortgage products and address internal inquiries in a timely & professional fashion, providing prompt resolutions & further troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Identify, create and/or maintain operational controls to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies in all processes.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
