As an Auditor of Regulatory Compliance, you’ll play a key role in evaluating adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies while independently assessing compliance controls across the organization. You’ll identify risk exposures, deliver actionable recommendations, and help enhance our regulatory and internal control frameworks.

- Track internal audit windows and ensure audits are completed on time to minimize operational downtime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide compliance guidance and best practice recommendations.
- Conduct accurate internal audits in accordance with the company’s TSMS and 46 CFR Subchapter M.
- Identify and document findings related to vessel documentation, policies/procedures, crew knowledge, paperwork completion, and select equipment (lifesaving/firefighting).
- Assist stakeholders with addressing findings while on site.
- Support incident investigations, as applicable.
- Complete and maintain audit reports, photos, and documentation in compliance systems.
- Communicate with USCG and TPO.
- Assist in tracking and analyzing trends across audits to identify risks and improvement areas.
- Assist with continuous improvement of TSMS and audit programs; contribute to the enhancement of internal audit and compliance frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Experience as a marine inspector, auditor, or surveyor.
- Experience and training in root cause analysis investigation techniques.
- Working knowledge and experience with industry standards and best practices.
- Must develop (or possess) a working knowledge of USCG and government regulations, more specifically 46 CFR parts 136-144 (Subchapter M – Towing Vessels).
- Must pass OSHA HAZWOPER and OSC 100-300, 700 and 800 courses and maintain those certifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Marine Operations, or related field.
- 5+ Years of experience in USCG regulatory compliance auditing and/or surveying or closely related field.
- Working knowledge of government regulations applicable to inland and near coastal marine transportation (USCG, MTSA, VRP, VSP, FSP, etc.).
- Project management skills.
