If you are ready to transition from long public accounting hours to a Controller role, this opportunity involves leading a finance team and managing the general ledger, close processes, and financial reporting for multiple offices and potential acquisitions.
Responsibilities- Oversee the general ledger and monthly close process
- Prepare financial statements and ensure timeliness and accuracy
- Review financial statements and perform account reconciliations for irregularities
- Lead compliance efforts pertaining to labor, subcontracting and other regulations
- Prepare budgets and provide reporting to monitor them
The role will manage a team of 8–10, including GL and project accounting, with responsibility for multiple locations and reporting, and the integration of potential acquisitions.
Job Requirements- 10+ years in construction accounting with 5+ years at Controller level
- Experience with multiple locations preferred
- Strong understanding of subcontracting business (e.g., lien laws, labor compliance, bonds)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
- CPA is not required but a plus
- Exposure to job costing and percent complete/work-in-progress is required
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista is a plus
