Overview
The CRE Portfolio Manager III services, deepens, and retains assigned profitable customer relationships by proactively evaluating and mitigating associated business risks and opportunities, per established Huntington policies, procedures, and Guiding Principles within the CRE organization.
Responsibilities- Own primary responsibility for the credit and monitoring of commercial portfolio risks.
- Responsible for underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and credit quality of the assigned portfolio, working directly with the Team Leader, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer.
- Assist in optimizing customer relationships with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.
- Manage delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base, portfolio reviews, specialized reporting, soft exposure annual reviews, and other related credit activities.
- Manage a portfolio of commercial customers in partnership with the relationship manager and maintain regular contact to manage the customer relationship.
- Rate new credits and update risk grades in the assigned portfolio.
- Work with the Relationship Manager on loan closings.
- Present proposed credit actions in written analysis documents and verbally to the Senior Loan Committee when necessary.
- Conduct portfolio reviews with senior management.
- Operate effectively in a team environment and collaborate with teams outside direct reporting lines.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Mentor Credit Analysts to develop competencies and experience.
- Prioritize work to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
- Analyze existing portfolio to identify trends and opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market and industry trends.
- Possess knowledge of commercial cross-sell products, including foreign exchange, commodities, interest rate derivatives, treasury management, and commercial cards.
- Effectively utilize IT systems that support the Commercial Segment, such as CLOS, PMTS, MAX, CARS, and the MS Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and expertise.
- 12+ years of related experience in commercial lending or credit analysis.
- Experience working directly with senior management and credit committees.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of commercial cross-sell products and IT systems used in the commercial segment.
- Exempt status:
Not eligible for overtime pay.
