Sr Payroll Tax Analyst – Complete Logistical Services
This full‑time, on‑site position is based at our headquarters and requires direct interaction with internal teams to manage and execute payroll tax and compliance strategies.
Responsibilities- Own and execute all US payroll tax activities including federal, state, and local filings (941, 940, W‑2, W‑3).
- Manage quarterly and year‑end processes, amendments, and corrections to ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Reconcile payroll tax balances and align them with the General Ledger.
- Manage tax notices and agency correspondence effectively.
- Act as the go‑to expert for payroll tax matters, providing guidance on complex scenarios and regulatory changes.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax legislation to ensure company compliance.
- Respond to employee payroll tax queries and manage expat taxation, gross‑ups, and multi‑state taxation issues.
- Partner with HR, Employment Tax, and Global Mobility teams to address and resolve complex payroll issues.
- Train and upskill payroll team members while developing SOPs and training materials.
- Act as the payroll tax SME for ERP implementation projects, supporting system testing, validation, and issue resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and controls within the payroll department.
- Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and Audit teams to ensure cohesive operations and compliance.
- Support operational payroll processing as required, ensuring accuracy of inputs and outputs.
- Perform audits, enhance documentation, and support system changes and enhancements as needed.
- Supervisory responsibilities as delegated by the Payroll Manager.
- High school diploma or GED required; an accounting or associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum seven (7) years of knowledge and work experience in payroll, tax, or a combination of education and experience.
- Extensive ability to prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports, including Federal Forms 941, 940, W‑2, W‑3, State, and local filings.
- Extensive multi‑state and multi‑jurisdictional payroll tax compliance experience.
- Hands‑on experience with People Soft, Oracle, or similar ERP software.
- Proven knowledge and skills in analytical problem‑solving and establishing project priorities.
- Strong ability to train and influence others within a team environment, fostering cooperative working relationships.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and acting on needs before they become urgent.
