Position: Senior Lead Pharmacy Benefits Actuarial Consultant

Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Rx Pharmacy Practice s is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in one of our US-based Mercer office locations.

As a Senior Pharmacy Benefits Actuarial or Financial Consultant, you will serve as a senior resource within the Actuarial Financial Group (AFG), focusing on reviewing policy and modeling issues related to pharmacy trends. You will lead consulting engagements with large employers regarding the financial evaluation of pharmacy benefit plans and assist in negotiations with benefits carriers and vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Manage pharmacy projects and junior staff in program reviews, financial assessments, implementations, plan design analyses, and financial projections.
  • Establish effective relationships with carriers and vendors to enhance client benefits procurement and administration.
  • Leverage Mercer's size and reputation to negotiate competitive rates and coverage options from carriers and vendors.
  • Develop sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies while effectively communicating industry financial trends to clients and Mercer H&B consultants.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree required; master’s degree highly valued.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial analysis consulting.
  • Superior analytical and mathematical skills, along with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Pharmacy Financial Actuarial Consulting is preferred.
  • PBM experience a plus.
  • Actuarial expertise is a plus.
  • Underwriting experience is advantageous.

  • Base salary range for this role is $150,500 to $301,000, with performance-based incentives possible.
