Job Description

The LNG Controller will serve as the financial steward for a liquified natural gas export project located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The project reached Final Investment Decision in Q2 2026 and has begun construction, which is anticipated to take approximately four years before reaching commercial operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day accounting operations for the LNG business and maintaining a robust internal controls framework.

In addition, the LNG Controller will be responsible for the timely preparation of GAAP compliant stand‑alone monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for three Commonwealth entities and will coordinate with the Chief Accounting Officer (“CAO”) for Commonwealth’s parent company, Caturus, LLC (“Caturus”) in support of timely and accurate consolidated financial reporting for Caturus. Key

Accountabilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions for the project, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
  • Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and annual close processes and prepare accurate and timely GAAP compliant financial statements.
  • Maintain compliance with investor, lender, and governance reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to maintain project‑level budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor actual project costs versus budget and investigate variances.
  • Coordinate with the tax department to navigate applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop scalable processes to support increased transaction volume.
  • Manage the external auditor relationship for Commonwealth LNG.
  • In coordination with the CAO and Director of Internal Audit for Caturus, develop and ensure compliance with internal controls for Commonwealth LNG.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure financial alignment with construction progress.
  • Support development of monthly financial reporting packages for senior management and investors.
  • Lead and mentor a growing LNG accounting team.
  • Assist in the evaluation, selection and implementation of new financial systems or project accounting tools to support scalable and integrated reporting.
Qualifications Education, Certificates, and Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • CPA or other relevant professional certification.
Experience
  • 15+ years of demonstrated relevant accounting experience, with previous experience as a Controller in the LNG industry or in similar large‑scale infrastructure businesses preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP, with extensive experience overseeing the preparation, review and delivery of high‑quality financial statements.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting expertise, with the ability to analyze complex transactions and determine appropriate accounting and disclosure treatment.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing internal controls frameworks.
  • Experience with construction‑phase accounting or large capital projects strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams of professionals and ensure they remain aligned to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced and rapidly growing organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
  • A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset and the ability to drive improvements within the accounting function.
