Senior Payroll Tax Analyst

On-site in Houston, Texas | Full-Time | $118-$128k, depending on experience

We're seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst to serve as the payroll tax subject matter expert for a complex, multi-jurisdiction payroll environment. This role is responsible for payroll tax compliance, tax setup, reconciliations, year-end reporting, and ensuring payroll tax accuracy across U.S. and Canadian operations.

• Support payroll tax compliance across federal, state, local, and Canadian jurisdictions.
• Manage tax jurisdiction setup and maintenance to ensure accurate withholding and reporting.
• Perform payroll tax reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support quarterly and year-end reporting, including W-2, W-2C, and T4 validation.
• Assist with payroll tax filings and compliance reporting.
• Partner with HRIS and payroll teams to validate tax configurations and calculations.
• Investigate payroll tax issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support payroll tax audits, tax notices, and compliance inquiries.
• Collaborate with payroll operations and technology teams to ensure accurate payroll outcomes.
• Provide payroll tax expertise and support during complex payroll processing periods.

• 8+ years of payroll experience with a strong focus on payroll tax.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, local, and payroll tax regulations.
• Experience with payroll tax reconciliations, filings, and year-end reporting.
• Exposure to Canadian payroll tax requirements preferred.
• Experience with enterprise payroll systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and Excel skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
