How You’ll Contribute

You’ll be most successful in this role if you naturally:

Take Ownership & Drive Results
  • Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, AP, payroll review, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Ensure accuracy across financial records, donor-restricted funds, and investment tracking
  • Maintain and continuously improve month-end, year-end, and audit processes
Build Trust Through Integrity & Accountability
  • Serve as a steward of organizational resources with a strong ethical foundation
  • Establish and enforce internal controls and proper segregation of duties
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with HR, Development, and leadership to ensure financial alignment
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to executives and Board stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships across departments as a trusted advisor
Lead & Develop People
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and accountability
  • Create a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and support
What You Bring

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience (management level preferred)
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience with financial systems (Blackbaud Financial Edge a plus; Paychex a plus)
