An established publicly traded company is seeking a Temp-to-Hire Transaction Tax Senior Analyst to oversee sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax compliance activities across multiple business segments and jurisdictions. This position will play a key role in ensuring compliance, supporting business growth, and partnering with accounting, operations, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns accurately and on time
- Manage exemption certificates, including collection, validation, and ongoing maintenance
- Research taxability issues related to products, services, contracts, and new operating locations
- Support tax registrations as the company expands into additional states and jurisdictions
- Assist with audits, tax notices, and communications with taxing authorities and external consultants
- Coordinate annual property tax filings and work with outside advisors on compliance requirements
- Review property tax assessments and invoices
- Maintain tax accruals, prepare related journal entries, and support monthly close activities
- Oversee heavy equipment tax filings and related reporting requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in indirect tax, including sales & use tax and property tax compliance
- Strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and taxability research
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus
- CPA, CMI, or other relevant tax certifications are preferred
- Self-starter who takes ownership and drives projects to completion
- Strong problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
- Collaborative team player who works effectively across departments
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
