About The Role
As part of the CFT/P team, this director role will report to the Senior Vice President & Actuary of the CFT & P area and will be responsible for all deliverables related to Life CFT and P (VM 20).
Responsibilities- Review and oversee quarterly statutory valuations of Life products, including VM-20
- Lead the preparation of VM31 and AOM’s
- Lead the annual Asset Adequacy Test (AAT) for Life, including:
- Model Development
- Assumption setting
- Attribution analysis
- Planning and managing Staff (Onshore and offshore)
- Lead the Preparation, analysis and presenting statutory results and preparing any documentation as required by regulation and company’s internal governance and controls standards, preparing and supporting audits and state exams
- Explain and present Life VM20 DR and SR reserve movement through quarterly attribution process and Management meetings
- Actively participate in assumption and Margin development for CFT and P , staying on top of regulatory developments and ensuring compliance
- Implement the Model Life Cycle Standard (MLCS) and other Model Risk Policies, conduct UAT for model changes and facilitate the successful Model Validation efforts
- Participate in discussions and analysis and provide advice regarding technical actuarial issues such as modeling methodology, actuarial and non-actuarial assumptions, reserving principles and changes to valuation standards, laws and regulations applicable to Life
- Lead the planning and preparation of regulatory responses in coordination with Qualified Actuary and senior management
- Assist management in Strategic Initiatives by providing insights and support “What if” analysis
- Actively participate and represent CFT area in Life assumption unlocking, conversion, pricing committee and other strategic meetings
- Monitor and analyze developments in actuarial techniques, laws and regulations applicable to Life and recommend appropriate reaction to these developments.
- Find creative solutions to standardize and automate processes as leader/participant on cross functional/cross product teams.
- Collaborate and maintain productive working relationships with other Actuarial, Finance, IT, CFO/CFA, Reinsurance and ERM functions.
- Collaborate with Deloitte on all third-party deliverables related to the IM CFT and perform review on deliverables
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, with 2+ years of experience post Fellowship attainment and Life product/valuation experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with ability to convey complex mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences.
- Knowledge of AXIS and Prophet platform, AAT, or Modelling is a plus.
