Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients.
This role focuses on trade credit underwriting, working closely with brokers and clients to grow the portfolio and support the company’s strategic objectives.
- Manage key relationships with trade credit brokers, markets, and industries.
- Review complex transactions and negotiate policy terms and conditions for large, new, and renewal insurance submissions.
- Analyze domestic and international corporate credit, evaluate financial information, and recommend or approve appropriate credit limits and terms.
- Maintain and service an existing portfolio of trade credit insurance business.
- Market, sell, and present to brokers and insureds to increase submission flow.
- Engage in underwriting and marketing projects to improve overall company results.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical direction to fellow underwriters to support group revenue targets and audit directives.
- Meet operating and audit guidelines set by senior management.
- Participate in and complete special projects as required by the profit center.
- Collaborate with distribution colleagues to identify and close trade credit opportunities.
- 5–7 years of experience in underwriting, with preference for trade credit, finance, or banking experience.
- Background in credit or financial analysis, with strong commercial development skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Cap IQ, Salesforce, and Factiva.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance required; MBA preferred.
- Strong commercial development skills.
- Second language proficiency valued.
Compensation for this position includes base salary and eligibility for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
