The Tax Analyst – Audit Focus supports indirect tax audits by preparing and reviewing audit documentation and internal reports, assists with indirect tax compliance activities as needed, analyzes statutory fiscal accounts within established deadlines to ensure accuracy and audit readiness, and trains new members of the Tax team.

Assist the Tax Manager with the management of the Schlumberger Indirect Tax Function. Responsibilities of this position include indirect tax audit & some indirect tax compliance.
Principle Responsibilities- Independently manage state & local audits which includes providing computerized data for sample selections, reconciliation of taxes remitted, sample evaluation, retrieving and reviewing documents, responding to auditor’s questions, review and respond to audit work papers.
- Provide guidance to field personnel on tax-related issues. Attend internal meetings to present training on state and local tax matters.
- Attend training/development courses as required by Schlumberger policies and enhance knowledge in all tax areas affecting responsibilities.
- Review and monitor changes in state tax laws and their effect on Schlumberger.
- Balance sheet account analysis responsibilities for various state and local tax accounts.
- Review and provide guidance relative to changes in business practices affecting tax.
- Assist other Tax Department personnel in all areas as needed, including occasional return filings.
- Assist the HUB Tax Manager with special products as needed.
B.S. in Accounting or Finance
Experience Requirements- Former audit experience with a taxing authority a plus
- US Indirect tax plus 3 years of sales & use tax audit management/litigation experience.
