Sr. Trade Control Analyst

Location:

Houston, TX

Responsibilities
  • Daily trade reconciliation, including reconciling against internal risk limits, trade modifications & Day One PnL.
  • Daily Price Curve Validation.
  • Daily Exchange & FCM Limit reconciliation.
  • EOD trader checkout process.
  • Daily communication in support of the Commercial Trading team (technical support, trade flow & amendments).
  • Work with Traders, Risk, Accounting and IT on non‑standard trade requests & new curve pricing setup.
  • Analyze trade control reports to ensure compliance with risk management and trading controls policies.
  • Management & enforcement of the DOA & Risk Policy.
  • Back‑up for the daily Confirmations process for OTC Counter parties and Brokers.
  • Back‑up for ISO, Exchange & ETRM privileging and access.
  • Proactively develop strategies or recommendations to improve trade control reporting operations.
  • Assist with ad‑hoc risk projects (Market Risk, QRM, Credit).
Qualifications
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with willingness to investigate issues and escalated when required.
  • Strong Excel skills for reconciling datasets and presenting data clearly.
  • Expertise in VBA, SQL, Python (or other data analysis packages) to analyze large data sets and automate Excel reporting.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset, identifying discrepancies and deficiencies that should be acted upon and escalated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; primary point of contact for Commercial, Settlements, Accounting & IT regarding trade booking.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent time‑management ability to meet defined timelines versus flexible needs.
  • Prior exposure to U.S. wholesale power markets (optional).
