Job Summary
Private Bankers at Citi develop and deepen client relationships to understand client situations and create tailored wealth management strategies. They add value by leveraging a global network of internal resources to achieve desired results, building disciplined sales processes, and delivering high quality private banking services while protecting the bank and clients through compliance with policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements.
New Client and Business Development- Grow client net revenue annually in core product areas: investment management, capital markets, and banking & lending
- Create sales and marketing strategies to generate revenue growth and acquire new target clients within different sectors
- Prospect: generate leads, develop prospects, network to identify referrals to new clients and prospects
- Profile, qualify, and convert prospects into CPB clients
- Identify and execute new business opportunities with existing clients
- Orchestrate specialist resources to develop tailored, long‑term solutions for clients and prospects
- Present and communicate complex financial concepts and investment strategies in an easily understood manner
- Serve as the client’s advocate and trusted advisor (primary contact) for strategic financial advice
- Create, organize, and implement a wealth management strategy to deepen relationships with existing clients
- Manage client expectations regarding possible actions or limitations on their behalf
- Ensure financial strategies stay current and aligned with client objectives
- Understand and communicate the risks involved with financial and investment strategies
- Handle client inquiries and problems effectively and resolve them efficiently
- Help team members acquire experience and establish credibility with clients
- Comply with all regulatory policies and control procedures regarding client transactions and suitability
- Oversee and ensure compliance with Investment Objective Setting (IOS), Client Risk Profile (CRF), and periodic client reviews
- Ensure clients are on‑boarded appropriately with complete and accurate documentation
- Assess risk when making business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup’s reputation and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies, and reporting control issues transparently
- Client-facing experience, preferably in the financial services industry; strong knowledge of investments, banking, and credit products
- Strong knowledge of current financial market conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, teamwork, and analytical skills
- Ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with sales, service, operations, compliance, and marketing groups
- Ability to understand, utilize, and learn computer and web‑based applications
- 15+ years of experience
- Licensing:
Series 7 & 66 (or 63 & 65) & 31 - Extensive and proven experience in Private Banking covering the UHNW market, working with or leading client teams and transactions, with a demonstrated track record in relationship selling
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of all Citi Private Bank banking and product systems, platforms, tools, and capabilities
