POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Corporate Development, Insurance & Real Estate is responsible for identifying, evaluating, executing, and integrating strategic growth opportunities while also overseeing the company’s enterprise insurance programs and corporate real estate portfolio. The role partners closely with executive leadership to optimize capital allocation, mitigate enterprise risk, and maximize the value of corporate assets.

This position requires strong financial, commercial, legal, and operational acumen with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives across acquisitions, divestitures, insurance risk management, and real estate strategy. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer of Bio Urja Advisors.

RESPONSIBILITIES Corporate Development
  • Identify acquisition, merger, joint venture, and strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Lead financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
  • Conduct commercial, operational, financial, legal, environmental, and tax due diligence.
  • Develop investment committee and Board presentations.
  • Negotiate Letters of Intent, purchase agreements, and transaction terms.
  • Coordinate external advisors including investment banks, legal counsel, accounting firms, technical consultants, and lenders.
  • Manage transaction execution from sourcing through closing.
  • Lead post-acquisition integration planning and synergy realization.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Support long‑term strategic planning and capital allocation initiatives.
Insurance & Enterprise Risk Management
  • Develop and manage the company’s global insurance strategy.
  • Oversee all corporate insurance programs, including:
  • Property
  • General Liability
  • Excess Liability
  • Directors & Officers (D&O)
  • Cyber Liability
  • Professional Liability
  • Environmental/Pollution Liability
  • Marine and Aviation (where applicable)
  • Energy‑specific operational insurance
  • Lead annual insurance renewals and broker negotiations.
  • Evaluate risk retention versus insurance transfer strategies.
  • Review policy wording, limits, deductibles, and coverage gaps.
  • Manage insurance claims and recovery efforts.
  • Coordinate enterprise risk assessments with operating business units.
  • Present insurance strategy and risk metrics to executive leadership.
  • Develop and execute corporate real estate strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage owned and leased office, industrial, operational, and warehouse facilities.
  • Lead lease negotiations, renewals, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Evaluate site selection for new offices and operating facilities.
  • Optimize real estate utilization and occupancy costs.
  • Oversee landlord relationships and major lease negotiations.
  • Coordinate facility consolidations and relocations.
  • Manage external brokers, developers, and property managers.
Financial & Strategic Leadership
  • Support annual budgeting and long‑range planning.
  • Evaluate capital investment opportunities.
  • Develop business cases for strategic initiatives.
  • Perform return on investment analyses.
  • Monitor transaction performance against investment assumptions.
  • Assist with financing strategies for acquisitions and major capital projects.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • MBA, CFA, CPA, or similar professional designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or strategic planning.
