THE ROLEThe US Power Trading desk is looking for an experienced trader. The Commodities US Power trading desk market makes in a variety of US power markets and works with a range of corporate clients primarily located across North America. On a day-to-day basis, team members will be expected to price and execute derivatives transactions, stay connected with market events across commodity markets, and work with the wider team to support and build the overall business.
Responsibilities/ Qualifications
- Trade short term physical and financial power
- Manage cash, short-term and medium-term trading positions risk
- Executing and booking of flow-based and structured trades across power markets
- Understanding commodities market fundamentals and trends and communicating information succinctly to salespeople and clients
- Minimum 3-5 years trading experience
- Experience in Power trading, basis trading and PJM preferred
- Proficiency in Python and VBA required
