Equity Research Analyst (2–4 Years Experience)

A well-capitalized single-family office is seeking an ambitious Equity Research Analyst to join its public markets investment team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside experienced portfolio managers and traders, gaining exposure to fundamental equity investing while developing expertise in basis trading

, and volatility (VOL) strategies

This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical foundation who is eager to transition from traditional equity research into a more dynamic investment and trading environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fundamental research on publicly listed companies across multiple sectors.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and investment theses.
- Monitor earnings, macroeconomic developments, industry trends, and company-specific catalysts.
- Produce investment recommendations and present research directly to the investment team.
- Assist portfolio managers with idea generation, portfolio construction, and risk monitoring.
- Develop an understanding of basis trading
, including cash equity versus futures relationships. - Learn and support trading strategies involving equity derivatives and volatility markets
. - Analyze option pricing, implied volatility, and market positioning.
- Monitor portfolio exposures and contribute to performance attribution and risk analysis.
- Collaborate with traders and portfolio managers on special research projects and market opportunities.
- 2–4 years of experience in Equity Research
, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or a related public markets role. - Strong financial modeling and company valuation skills.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for financial markets with a genuine interest in public equities and trading.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Bloomberg, Fact Set, or Capital IQ preferred.
- Programming experience (Python, VBA, SQL, or similar) is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.
- Work directly with seasoned investors in a highly entrepreneurial single-family office
