We are seeking an Investor Accounting Manager to join a leading commercial real estate finance and mortgage servicing organization with operations across the United States. This hybrid leadership role combines hands-on investor accounting expertise with people management responsibilities, overseeing investor accounting operations, cash management, reconciliations, remittances, and reporting while leading a high-performing team dedicated to delivering operational excellence and exceptional service to institutional investors.

This is a hybrid position based in Houston, TX, requiring 3 days per week onsite and 2 days per week remote, with the potential to convert to a permanent position.

• Lead and develop a team of Investor Accounting professionals through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Oversee investor accounting operations, including cash management, remittances, reconciliations, and investor reporting.
• Manage relationships with institutional investors and resolve complex operational issues.
• Coordinate reporting and remittances for agency and institutional mortgage investors.
• Partner with Treasury, Finance, Servicing, Operations, and banking partners to improve operational performance.
• Support SOX compliance, audits, investor requirements, and internal control initiatives.
• Drive process improvements, automation, operational metrics, and reporting enhancements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field required.
• Minimum six (6) years of progressive experience in mortgage accounting, mortgage servicing, or mortgage banking.
• Minimum two (2) years of direct leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience supporting SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit activities.
• Experience implementing servicing platform enhancements or technology solutions.
• Experience serving as a liaison during audits or regulatory examinations.
• Demonstrated success developing and leading high-performing teams.

• Experience with investor accounting and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of mortgage servicing operations.
• Experience supporting agency and institutional investor portfolios.
• Strong understanding of cash management and account reconciliations.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex data analysis.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Proven leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing teams.
• Ability to build and maintain strong investor relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
