Senior Analyst, Tax
A leading global energy organization is seeking a Senior Analyst, Tax to join its Corporate Tax team. Reporting to the Tax Manager, this position plays a critical role in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, taxable income forecasting, tax accounting, and financial reporting activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to independently evaluate and resolve complex tax matters. This role partners closely with Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Strategic Finance, Treasury, and external advisors to support the organization's global tax reporting and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities- Prepare quarterly and annual global income tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Calculate and analyze book-to-tax differences and support all tax accounting processes.
- Develop, maintain, and update taxable income forecasting models used for monthly forecasts and ad hoc analyses.
- Prepare executive-level presentations highlighting key tax metrics, forecasts, and financial impacts.
- Support federal tax calculations, including:
- Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax (CAMT)
- IRC Section 162(m) executive compensation limitations
- Foreign-Derived Deduction Eligible Income (FDDEI)
- Foreign Tax Credits
- Transfer Pricing
- Revenue Recognition
- Share-Based Compensation
- Prepare income tax journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Calculate and facilitate quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Draft tax provision memorandums documenting significant transactions and tax positions.
- Coordinate with external accounting firms and international advisors regarding foreign tax compliance and reporting.
- Manage and maintain tax provision data within Corptax software.
- Support internal and external audit requests through timely preparation of work papers and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and efficiencies.
- Participate in special projects and other tax-related responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA license strongly preferred.
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
- Public accounting experience, including Big Four experience, is a plus.
- Experience with in a large corporate tax environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and income tax accounting.
- Working knowledge of U.S. federal income tax laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with IFRS tax reporting requirements.
- Understanding of tax forecasting, tax provision calculations, and financial statement reporting.
- Minimum 3 plus years of experience in tax accounting, income tax provision, and/or tax compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex tax issues and develop practical solutions.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Required)
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field (Preferred)
- CPA License or active pursuit of CPA certification (Highly Preferred)
