Consumer Loan Underwriter

Consumer Loan Underwriter | Credit Union We’re hiring an experienced Consumer Loan Underwriter to join a growing lending team! Great opportunity for someone who enjoys making sound credit decisions while still keeping member service top of mind.

What You’ll Do:

Underwrite direct and indirect consumer loan applications

Review credit reports, income, DTI, collateral values, and overall creditworthiness

Approve, decline, or condition loans within assigned lending authority

Review loan documentation for accuracy and compliance

Partner closely with loan officers, branch teams, and lending leadership

Identify additional lending opportunities and help grow member relationships

Maintain accurate loan files and underwriting documentation

Ensure compliance with lending policies and applicable regulations

Deliver timely decisions in a fast-paced lending environment

What We’re Looking For:

2–5 years of consumer loan underwriting experience

Credit union or financial institution experience preferred

Strong understanding of consumer credit and lending guidelines

Experience with both direct and indirect lending is a plus Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Detail-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills

High school diploma/GED or higher required
