Tax Manager — Oil & Gas Private Equity Fund
Houston, TX
Bring your partnership tax expertise to the energy sector's most complex deal structures. Join a growing alternative asset manager focused on energy investments, where you'll own tax compliance, joint venture allocations, and investor reporting across a multi-entity fund platform — with direct exposure to deal teams, portfolio company CFOs, and investor relations.
What You'll Do:- Manage tax matters for Oil & Gas joint ventures and portfolio companies
- Review partnership allocations and K-1 packages
- Support transactions and coordinate outsourced tax compliance
- Forecast taxable income and tax holdbacks on distributions
- Handle corporate returns, E&P calculations, and quarterly filings
- Maintain tax dashboards and internal reporting
- Respond to investor tax queries and DDQs
- 4+ years Big 10 and/or Oil & Gas tax experience
- Working knowledge of Oil & Gas tax issues (depletion, recapture, IDCs)
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and large datasets
- Comfort working cross-functionally in a small, fast-paced team
- Willingness to adopt and leverage AI tools
