We are partnering with a large, established energy organization in Houston that is adding a Senior Financial Analyst to its team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into the business, working closely with operational teams, and using financial analysis to help leadership make better decisions.

Sr. Financial Analyst Responsibilities:

This role sits at the intersection of finance and the business. Rather than spending the majority of the time producing recurring reports, this individual will be expected to understand what is happening operationally, determine the financial impact, and help leadership evaluate different paths forward.

A significant portion of the role will involve building financial models from the ground up, analyzing potential investments, and working through "what-if" scenarios. The team is looking for someone who can take an open-ended business question and develop the financial analysis needed to answer it.

+ Build financial models from the ground up to support strategic and operational decisions.

+ Partner closely with Operations to understand business performance, key drivers, and areas of opportunity.

+ Develop business cases and financial analyses for potential investments and growth initiatives.

+ Analyze multiple business scenarios and provide insight into potential financial outcomes.

+ Perform ad hoc analysis in response to changing business needs and leadership requests.

+ Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

+ Support planning and forecasting activities while providing greater insight into underlying business drivers.

+ Turn complex financial and operational data into clear recommendations for management.

+ Prepare financial analyses and presentations for leadership.

+ Help enhance reporting and analytical capabilities across the finance organization.

+ Work cross-functionally on special projects and other business initiatives.

Requirements

Sr. Financial Analyst Experience Requirements:

+ 5+ years of modeling - more than just budgeting and forecasting. Need to be able to create models from scratch - scenario analysis and investment evaluation

+ Experience working with Operations Teams and providing support and guidance with the goal of further efficiencies and business decisions that enhance profitability

+ Energy industry experience - upstream, midstream, downstream, renewables, etc.

+ Heavy excel experience, but would love someone who can help maximize utilization of their ERP and reporting systems - creating dashboards, utilizing AI, etc.

+ Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, etc.
