Your Key Responsibilities

The oil and gas industry is constantly evolving. The Federal Royalty team applies technical understanding of current regulatory practices to a wide range of federal royalty areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to very complex issues.

As a Federal Royalty Analyst in the oil and gas sector, your role will include:

Working in a highly collaborative culture, listening to and sharing information with colleagues.

Learning and researching current market trends.

Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex operations to identify potential opportunities and risks and provide meaningful business insights, tailoring advice to the client's specific needs.

Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients' activities.

Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have :

A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, International Business, or a related field, supported by a strong academic record .

3.0 cumulative college/university GPA .

Critical thinking skills and the adaptability to problem solve difficult issues.

The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects .

Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

An interest working in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when . necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs .

You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to Houston, TX, for this position.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.

Ideally, you will have :

Cumulative college/university GPA of 3.2 or above .

Technical writing and research experience in a regulatory context.

Proficient in Power BI, Alteryx, or related software.
