Trade Desk Analyst - US Crude

What does the job involve?

The Trade Desk Analyst is working with the trading teams to provide timely and relevant information and models that support the team's trading strategies for both physical and financial activities. You are utilizing your knowledge independently to solve highly complex tasks with a short to medium-term outlook. You independently communicate within the immediate team, across other trade desks, and towards other key Equinor stakeholders.

You promote change initiatives, demonstrate flexibility to adopt new highly complex activities/ways of working and advise others. You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.

• Collaborate with traders and trade desk analysts across the globe to update supply/demand models with best available data and forecasts.
• Build and maintain models and information dashboards day-to-day to ensure performance and timely deliverables.
• Monitor and analyze market data, price movements, and trading activity across crude markets, with particular focus on North America.
• Support traders with real-time data, trade entry, and position tracking.
• Apply digital tools and techniques to enhance model robustness, capability, and integration.
• Strengthen the technical model framework and automated data scraping while preserving the integrity of model data.
• Provide proprietary, actionable analytics for and in close cooperation with the trading teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data management, data analytics, engineering or another relevant field.
• Ideally, 2+ years of relevant experience related to commodity markets, market analysis or data analytics.
• A commercial mindset and a good understanding of commodity markets, particularly North American oil markets.
• Quantitative analytical skills are desirable.
• A team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
