Code Enforcement Officer

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Code Enforcement Officer to join our team of professionals. This position offers a great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments and contribute to meaningful community projects.

• Perform field inspections for rental housing program
• Read and examine plans and specifications when required
• Report violations and maintain files/records
• Perform other related duties as required

• Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code-compliant solutions
• Ability to work with all levels of management; strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently in a rapidly changing environment, and function as group leader.
• Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele.
• Good time management, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.

• TDLR Code Enforcement Officer II licensure required
• ICC International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) Certification a plus
• 1+ years of experience in security, enforcement, or compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts
• Experience in building, construction, or trades highly desired
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record required
