A federal competitive service position with the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Texas.
Responsibilities- Administer the District financial management program, including long‑range programmatic plans and the annual budget.
- Maintain, support, and document all obligations, expenditures, unobligated orders, and available balances.
- Provide technical guidance, advice, and assistance to the Administrative Officer and U.S. Attorney in identifying future resource needs and planning future budget requirements.
- Perform ongoing monitoring and reporting as responsibilities increase and assignments become more complex.
- GS‑9 Eligibility – At least one of the following:
- Specialized
Experience:
one year of experience reviewing account obligations and payments, using an automated accounting system, verifying costs, and monitoring credit‑card obligations. - Education:
Master’s degree or equivalent graduate education, or two full years of higher‑level graduate education, or LL.B./J.D. in an applicable field. - Combination:
Education and Experience combined, computed at 100% or more based on standard federal percentages.

Experience:
one year of experience reviewing complex account obligations, verifying costs, monitoring credit‑card obligations, conducting periodic reviews, and preparing monthly financial and budgetary reports. - Education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of higher‑level graduate education, or LL.M. in an applicable field. - Combination:
Education and Experience combined, computed at 100% or more based on standard federal percentages.
- Specialized
- U.S. citizenship or national status required.
- All appointments conditioned upon satisfactory pre‑employment adjudication (fingerprint, credit, tax, drug testing, and background investigation).
- Selective Service registration required for applicable male applicants.
- Probationary period of one year may be required.
- Applicants must meet all qualification requirements upon the announcement closing date.
- Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) and Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) provide selection priority for eligible displaced federal employees; eligibility must be verified and a score of 85 or greater on ranking criteria is required.
